Ingredients Used in Our Shaving Soap VS. Over-The-Counter Brands
Do you hate shaving because your skin feels irritated after every shave?
You see, for many years, we’ve transitioned from using classic wet shaving products to unnatural shaving creams, gels, and soaps, which are full of harsh toxins and chemicals that leave our skin with irritations and razor burns.
We at Men’s Soap Company decided it’s time to help bring back classic shaving by providing exceptional, high-quality shaving products. Let's go back to our grandfather's way of shaving by using straight and double edge safety razors, natural shaving soaps, and a shaving brush.
There are many shaving soaps in the market, but if you want a great premium soap made from high-quality natural ingredients that will leave your skin smooth and moisturized after every shave then you must try our Lavender Shaving Soap.
Products we recommend using with our soap:
- Quality Synthetic or Horse Hair Shaving Brush
- Merkur Chrome Long Handled Safety Razor or Merkur Heavy Duty Double Edge Razor 34C
- Edwin Jagger Porcelain Shaving Soap Bowl
What's the difference between shaving soap vs cream?
Shaving cream can create a quicker thicker lather due to it being foamy, however, shaving soaps add a better layer of protection while shaving. Shaving soap tends to have less fragrance, which is an added benefit if you have sensitive skin.
Which Shaving brush works best?
Shaving brushes can be made from synthetic, horse, boar, or badger hair. To get the best lather and shave that won't be affected by hard water, a synthetic shaving brush is best. You may choose horse hair as an alternative, as cutting a horse mane and tail is part of their regular grooming, which does not harm the horse. We do not recommend boar or badger hair because their hair is harvested by killing.
I have been shaving a long time, more than 50 years. I have enjoyed lavender shave soaps, but finding a good melt and pour one is getting harder. This one nails it. All vegan, nice, subdued fragrance from lavender essential oil, an explosive lather that doesn't dissipate on your face, and a great post-shave feel. My lavender of choice is Art of Shaving Lavender shave cream. It will now be sharing duties with Mens Soap. There are many good reviews about this soap on Amazon. Believe them!
Good lather. Pleasant but very mild fragrance. Very satisfied.
Hi Bill, great to hear you're having a pleasant shaving experience. Happy shaving and stay safe!
Scent was fine but impossible to get lather. Tried three or 4 times and threw it out.
[update] We reached out to Michael and wanted to see how we could solve the lather problem. Maryland is a very hard water (high mineral content) state, which makes lathering very difficult. It is still possible to get a good lather with different techniques.
Hi Michael, thanks for letting us know. You tried the Himalaya puck a while ago, I'm assuming it was good and you wanted to try Lavender. We're not perfect and mistakes can happen. One of our staff will be in touch you soon. Thank you.
I picked this up awhile ago. I now swear by this brand. Less irritation, best smell and the most lather. Hands down the best on the market!
Thank you, Chef! Glad the shaving soap is lasting you and are you are getting your money's worth.
